Fantasia Talks Overdose and Getting Back to Herself

Fantasia Barrino broke her silence and appeared on this mornings episode of ABC’s Good Morning America.  During the interview she talked about her recent suicide attempt and relationship with married Antwaun Cook.

“I think I was just overloaded with everything, with carrying six years of so much,” said Fantasia. “I always take a licking and keep on ticking…it just became heavy for me to the point that I just wanted to be away from the noise … There’s so much that people don’t understand. They just see the glitz and the glamour, and they feel like life is so perfect, but we’re human and we go through things.”

Despite the fact that she was threatened with a lawsuit by her boyfriend’s soon-to-be ex-wife on the day that she attempted suicide, she insists he didn’t factor into her decision making that day.

“I think everybody feels like I…

American Idol: Ellen de Generes OUT, Jennifer Lopez IN?

Fox just made it official: Ellen DeGeneres’ much-criticized tenure as the fourth judge on “American Idol” has sputtered to an end after just one season. I sort of liked her there. It’s too bad that Simon Cowell also left just recently.American Idol must be trying to get out of a rut, given nine seasons? That’s a long time to keep momentum though. They’ve managed to get this far. They must be running on profit already.Remaining judges will be Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. They’ll have to find another demon judge to be as blunt and entertainingly hateful as Simon Cowell. Rumor is Jennifer Lopez is about to join the gang, her music experience is okay I guess. But how good she is at being candid I’m not so sure. This will have to be an exercise in re-energizing and rebranding the show. Good luck!

La Roux Go Top 10, Lee DeWyze Has A Chart Fail And It’s Weird To See Will Young On The Hot 100

It’s better late than never with La Roux. I joked on April Fool’s Day that the British duo managed to climb to #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their single “Bulletproof”—thinking then such a feat seemed like a long shot. But two months later, the former 2009 UK #1 is a bona fide U.S. Top 10 hit, as it now finds itself parked at #8. Never thought it would happen.

But at least La Roux aren’t as Johnny-come-lately as Will Young, whose 2003 UK #1 “Leave Right Now” debuts at #81, after his live performance of the ballad during American Idol’s finale week.

And speaking of Idol, this year’s winner Lee DeWyze has posted the worst debut ever for a lead single from a reigning contestant. His lackluster of “Beautiful Day” sounded dreary when he performed it on the show, and so it’s no surprise that the recorded version of it…

Adam Lambert Debuts Voodoo Single

Adam Lambert debuted his new album "For Your Entertainment" and I have to admit it is quite good. One of the bonus tracks is Voodoo - here it is from Youtube. Pardon the visual - I don't think it's that good. But the music isn't bad

New Season Brings New Controversy and Social Networking for Idol Contestants

The addition of Ellen to the judges panel is not the only change for American Idol this year–for the first time in Idol history contestants are allowed to have profiles on Twitter, Myspace and Facebook. In the previous eight seasons social networking was banned for contestants and any pre-existing profiles were deleted before contestants became part of the show. Now all of the top 24 Idol contestants have been given profiles on Twitter, Myspace and Facebook. All of their profiles were created by Fox and it is not clear what the exact rules for the profiles will be. If you want to keep up with your favorite contestants online you can find a complete list of all of their online profiles here. This season may have added online profiles, but it did not loose any of its drama and controversy. American Idol’s Newest Judge - Ellen DeGeneres Replaces Paula Abdul

I think American Idol just made one of its smartest moves replacing Paula Abdul with Ellen DeGeneres. She is cool & smart & honest. Even if she says she won't be a "mean" judge I think she will be honest about her opinions & that's what matters

The audience is divided about the fact that she's a comedian & not a "real" critique, and maybe that's a valid observation. She is first & foremost a comedian. We can't deny that American Idol wants people to watch the show - regardless of why they want to watch. Ellen is definitely a crowd drawer & I think that is one of the reasons they've considered her for the judge position. Whether she be comic relief or a valid decision maker in the new season of American Idol, I'm going to be sure to watch it anyway. I want to hear what she has to say - so I guess her move was a good idea

According to Ellen -- "Hopefully, I'm the people's point of view because I'm just like you," DeGeneres said on her syndicated talk show Thursday. "I sit at home and I watch it, and I don't have that technical ... I'm not looking at it in a critical way from the producer's mind. I'm looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person."

Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone Cover And “Crush” Kris Allen

Adam Lambert has gone all-out admitting his sexuality on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine even going so far as to admitting he had a crush on American Idol Season 8 champion Kris Allen. There was much adieu over Adam Lambert's sexuality, but who cares really? It's quite obvious he's gay. Handsome though so that's a shame but nothing much we can do if he prefers men over women right? But would it have made a difference had he been male on American Idol?
