Cover Girl: Jennifer Lopez & Elle

Jennifer Lopez protagoniza la portada de la revista Elle de Octubre (el vestido en la portada es de Oscar de la Renta). Y dentro de la revista un amplio editorial con ella y sus nueve diseñadores favoritos. Como verás, las fotos son como pequeñas historias contadas en una imagen. Y lo que se puede percibir de cada una de ellas es que la estrella realmente tiene una relación especial con cada uno de sus diseñadores preferidos. Así que un aplauso para todo el equipo de Elle y otro al fotógrafo Carter Smith en particular.

Jennifer Lopez is the cover girl of the October issue of Elle (the dress on the cover is by Oscar de la Renta). And inside the magazine a large editorial with the star and her nine favourite designers. As you'll see, the pictures are like small stories told through one image. And what you can perceive from them is that Jennifer has a very special relationship with each of her beloved designers. So let's applaud to the whole Elle team and particularly to the photographer Carter Smith.

The photo session started in Milan with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, where Lopez posed in a fullforce power gown and a velvet page-boy outfit in the duo’s garden.




La siguiente "parada" era su suite en el hotel Four Seasons. Un encuentro muy íntimo con Brian Atwood (en esta toma con aire un poco a Javier Bardem, ¿no te parece?).

A continuación Jennifer se trasladó al palacio de Donatella Versace para hacer una instantánea con la diseñadora.

I apologize for the frequent posting, but there is just so much going on in the fashion industry right now!

Is it possible that two newcomers have more ad campaigns booked than some of the best (well, I guess that is debatable) models?



Karlie Kloss
A relative unknown before the s/s 2008 runways, known only before for her brief shots in Teen Vogue, she has landed 4 ad campaigns this s/s 2008 season: Pringle, Nina Ricci, Rebecca Taylor (Asia) and See by Chloe.

Meghan Collison

Sure, there has been talk about her, but she has yet to do anything more than a few runways and a cover of Fashion magazine. Like Karlie Kloss, she landed 4 ad campaigns: Prada Resort, Prada, Belstaff and Pringle. Let's face it, Sasha was a relative unknown before being shoved into the spotlight with the Prada campaigns, so Meghan will get even more exposure. Furthermore, supermodels.nl has put Meghan under Meagan. Just so, you know, you are informed.

Sasha Pivovarova landed only Prada: Prada, Prada Resort, and Prada Resort Accessories.

Raquel Zimmerman also has two campaigns with Fendi and Valentino.

Natasha Poly is going to be featured only in Gucci and Gucci Resort.

Lily Donaldson has Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Maxmara.

Kate Moss of course ties both Karlie and Meghan with 4: Roberto Cavalli, YSL, Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan.


The model with the most? Well, if you have been paying attention to my ad posts, it's Anja Rubik! She had 6: Chloé Fragrance, Gap, H&M, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Chanel Winter Eye wear (well, six if you include the Chanel eye wear).

Newcomers Masha Novoselova, scored only one with D&G Resort, and Kasia Struss, who was seen in too many runway shows to count also landed only one with Dior.

Is it just me, or is the fashion industry giving the wrong people campaigns?
